"Chakra" is a sanskrit word describing an energy vortex along the spine of a human or animal. These whirling vortexes of concentrated etheric energy align with major intersections of the nervous system and organs within the body.

Clairvoyants can perceive the the chakras as a colorful wheel or flower, with a hub in the center, invisibly attached along the spine from the base to the top of the head and held in place by the Ida and Pengala (major "circuits" of the etheric body). These crossing act as electric sockets into which a physical gland is plugged.
